… was lounging around, catching up on Garance Dore‘s posts. I found this video to be quite an insight on fashion and life from the perspective of a designer. Especially love the end of the video (9.06 minutes in) – his perspective of control in the runway verses the absolute lack of control that we humans have over the weather:
“…gardening keeps me with my two feet on the ground because in fashion we try to control everything. A fashion designer wants sunshine on a fashion show, he can have it… but in a garden, you have to obey. When it’s dry, it’s too dry. When it’s raining, it’s too much rain. It’s always something, but it’s a good thing.”
How about you? Do you ever feel like you want to stay in control but find that the harder you try, the faster things get out of hand? Perhaps this is simply human nature…
What keeps you grounded?
